Thunder in the Desert is a premier event headlining four of the top ranking drum and bugle corps in the nation. The show is hosted in Midland as part of a competitive tour in association with Drum Corps International (DCI). DCI SUMMER MUSIC GAMES tour, begins in June and culminates at the World Championship in August.

This evening of entertainment features over 800 performers from around the country. Comprised of young people between the ages of 14 through 21, these student marching groups highlight some of the finest work currently being done by the youth of America. The performing corps will descend on Midland and Odessa on July 16, 2008 with over 20 buses, 10 semi-trailers and numerous other equipment trucks, campers and trailers. They will be housed at various schools throughout the Permian Basin. While the corps are here they will be conducting open rehearsals, so feel free to contact us for information on where and when the corps will rehearse.
